THIS IS A NEW BRAND OF HEAT PACKS- We have seen significant failure and quality control issues with the Uni-Heat 72 hour heat packs this season. Many are failing to activate and/or sustain heat production. This could jeopardize your live animal shipments so we have pulled the UniHeat 72 hour heat packs from inventory. We have found a new brand of 72 hour packs, and while slighty more expensive, your live animal shipments are well worth the price difference and peace of mind.

Heat packs are a necessary, but not always required, component of cold-weather shipping, allowing businesses and hobbyists the ability to ship year-round. However, the misuse of heat packs is also the number one cause of death in shipments!

Pre-start your heat pack an hour before shipping. Remove it from the outer wrapper, shake it up well, and place it in a folded towel, allowing it to warm up to a strong, solid heat. The heat pack may not heat up properly if you leave it in the open air. Once pre-started, be sure to affix the heat pack to the underside of the top insulation panel, with the white side facing into the box. Never put a heat pack under or touching your animals or their containers!

ONE heat pack per shipping box, except for the largest 30x16x10 box, in which case you can use two.

These heat packs are specifically made for live animal shipments. Any other kind of heat source, such as hand or foot warmers, can easily kill your animals!

Know your temperature guidelines for heat pack usage and pay close attention to the daytime highs at both the origin and destination, and always check our site banners for any weather or system warnings!

You DO NOT need a heat pack for every shipment. Follow our guidelines for safe and successful use of heat packs!
